Their good news? The reasons they lost were pretty clear.

Littal: Kevin, towards the end of the game, you shot a three sort of putting the dagger into them. Or try to correct.

And this year, it was Cleveland’s turn to lose Bogut. In 2012, Curry signed a four-year, $44 million extension with the Warriors, a fairly small deal due to the concerns over his frequently injured ankles. “We didn’t play as well as we know we’re capable of, so we look forward to the next one”. But Golden State opened the gap in the second period and pulled away in the third – handing the Wine & Gold their worst loss (and first road defeat) of the postseason – a 113-91 decision on Thursday night at Oracle Arena. “Making the pass that’s in front of you”.

Before any of those potential strategies can take root, though, Cleveland must do a significantly better job of controlling the pace and limiting its turnovers. “And tonight we had 20, and that’s way too many against this team”.

Durant was the story, setting the early tone and then finishing up with a solid fourth quarter with a team-high eight points in the final frame to quash any thoughts of a Cleveland comeback. “But we got to do a better job putting the ball in the basket”.

Part of the problem is Cleveland also has to defend against Golden State’s superlative long-range, three-point shooters as well.

Outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett isn’t from the Bay Area (he’s from Baltimore), and he played his college football at Colorado State, but he picked Golden State to dominate the series.

The Warriors came storming out of the locker room at halftime and quickly built a 21-point lead over the first four minutes of the second half. Golden State had 27. “But in The Finals, you get the W, we’ll take it”, Durant offered.

The Cavaliers entered the game 12-1 in the postseason. “And in transition, I only can get in transition because we got stops and rebounding“, he added.

The two teams will now have two days off to digest this one before Game 2 on Sunday at 8 p.m. EDT here in Oakland. Who wouldn’t want Kevin Durant, right?

After Durant tied the score at 14-14 with an 18-foot jumper, LeBron James began to leave his stamp on the game.

Rihanna was joined by the likes of Kevin Hart and Jay-Z among the celebrities who turned out for game one.

We’re not saying that this series is over, certainly, but social media is definitely smelling a changing of the guard, if the above is any indication. It’s not even close to being time to start panicking.

Lue is correct in saying the Cavs can play better in Game 2 and give themselves a better chance to hang with the Warriors. And the Cavaliers have a special bit of history on their side. As many have been anticipated, the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are going to face off in the final series for the third straight years.

Well OK, not exactlythese Warriors.
