F Miikka Salomaki also returned from five games off. F Nic Kerdiles made his third appearance of the postseason for Anaheim in Rakell’s absence. Game 6 goes Monday night in Nashville.

“Well, it seems that when the pressure’s been applied, we’ve responded in the proper manner, and I would expect the same”, Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. “We have a solid team and that includes depth”. The Predators will have the luxury of playing in front of their loyal fans with a chance to eliminate the Anaheim Ducks. We want to put people into situations that they can have success.

We get it. These are the playoffs.

Defenseman Kevin Bieksa said the Ducks just have to go out and win.

The Predators fly home today, they will arrive at 3:30 in their normal Signature Air location

Of course, so are the Ducks.

Will the Nashville Predators close out the Anaheim Ducks in the Western Conference Finals when the two meet in Game 6 tonight at 8PM ET? Rickard Rakell missed Saturday’s game with a lower-body injury, and forward Patrick Eaves has missed nine with his injury.

Ducks goalie John Gibson, meanwhile, has been deemed questionable for Monday’s showdown with the Preds thanks to a lower-body injury of his own.

“Yeah, that’s what playoffs are about”, said Cogliano.

Anaheim players suffered some injuries. In four games against the Predators, the 24-year-old winger had scored one goal and two assists.

Pontus Aberg, Colin Wilson, and Austin Watson did the heavy lifting for the Predators as Nashville’s only goal scorers in the 3-1 win. “Again, we’re always juggling numbers”, said Laviolette.

With Fisher and Johansen pushed to the sidelines, Aberg got the promotion he deserved when he was moved onto a line with Forsberg, and he made sure Laviolette got rewarded for his decision.

“You play for them”, goalie Pekka Rinne said of Fisher and Johansen, per Rexrode. The Predators goalie has had a Conn Smyth-worthy post-season, with an nearly unfair 1.62 goals-against average and.942 save percentage. Saturday night was not for the faint of heart, as Anaheim’s Josh Manson caught player after player with big after big hit, and Nashville’s Filip Forsberg wielded his stick around like it was a sword. “We know we can count on him”.

It took until the 12:46 mark of the second period for either team to finally break through for a score. And he keeps it tight back there. “In our model, we don’t want to rush people”.

It could become even bigger if Gibson is unable to play. “The Predators would like to thank Vanderbilt Life Flight Paramedics, the VUMC Emergency Department, Operating Room Nurses, and Anesthesiologists for their expedient and excellent care”.

After all, there is no turning back now.

Prior to Game 5, Nashville was without its captain and its No. 1 centre. The 23-year-old center has seven points in 15 playoff games, almost as many as he had in the entire regular season (10). “I think we’re here for a reason as well”. He’s a veteran guy. If Gibson is unable to dress, Bernier would be tabbed for his first playoff start.
