The Golden State Warriors seem to be on a collision course with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals, and the San Antonio Spurs are struggling to get into the fight.

The Warriors picked up a 120-108 win at San Antonio in Game 3 to go up 3-0 in the series on Saturday night. It was his first start of the year and the first playoff game he’s started since 2013.

The depleted Spurs, missing the injured Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker, were always chasing the game as the powerful Warriors offense dominated nearly from first to last. Instead, Leonard limped off, the Spurs blew a 25-point lead and the series has been a one-sided affair ever since.

The Warriors averaged 107.7 points per game in 24 games in 2016 and has averaged 117.4 points per games in 11 games in the current playoffs.

All-time NBA Finals appearance streaks NBA teams that have made at least three consecutive NBA Finals appearances (previous years’ date retrieved from Wikipedia).

The Warriors lead 3-0 in the best-of-seven series with Game 4 set for today in San Antonio.

Although Kawhi’s absence makes this distinction significantly less impressive, Jonathon Simmons has been the best player on the Spurs in these Western Conference Finals.

The most surprising element of this game was Golden State’s abnormally poor defensive effort.

Thereafter the Warriors comfortably kept the Spurs at arm’s length, with their multifaceted offense proving too much for San Antonio.

“We want the mentality of Kevin from Minnesota, but his usage rate [doesn’t] have to be as high as Minnesota”, James said of Love, who previously starred with the Minnesota Timberwolves before he joined the Cavs in a blockbuster trade. “I can’t lie”, Durant said.

“There are things on both sides of the ball that we can clean up, and that’s what’s, I guess, got our guys’ attention or focus”, Warriors acting head coach Mike Brown said. Since the Spurs joined the National Basketball Association in 1976, they have made 10 conference finals appearances, which ranks as the most in the league in that timeframe. He helped win a gold medal at the 2004 Olympics, beating Team USA in the process with a brilliant 29-point game in the semifinals.

Game one of the NBA Finals will be in Oakland on Friday June 2nd (NZT).

Ginobili led the Spurs with 21 points in the Game 3 of the series. Zaza Pachulia missed the game and was not on the bench after bruising his right heel during the first quarter of Game 2. The Warriors also yielded 15 offensive rebounds, which San Antonio turned into 18 more points. “We’re going to need it even more in the next series, whoever we play, we’re just looking forward to it”. Murray’s four steals in the first half tied Ginobili’s franchise record for most steals in a playoff game.
